Hydration Serums

What are they?

Hydration vs. Moisture

Healthy skin is about 25% to 30% water. Hydration is all about the water content in the surface layers of your skin.  These serums are designed to quench and replenish skin to a glowing, plump and smoother state. When the skin is well hydrated, the deeper lipids and oils that make up its barrier are protected.

Moisture is all about those barrier oils and lipids— ceramics, cholesterol, amino acids, etc— which make up only 10% of healthy skin. Beauty oils, for example, are pure moisture, and help restore and strengthen skin’s elasticity while smoothing redness. Some products are a mix of hydration and moisture when your skin needs extra rehab.
